The accomplishment of TAFE Project

for Beijing College of Finance and Commerce

Since 2018, Beijing College of Finance and Commerce has been engaged in TAFE pilot project. Well-experienced teachers from the school have had access to workshop of how to train students through TAFE approach.

This period of time has seen tremendous developments in how we, as an education provider, seek to be more creative and innovative by having TAFE teaching approach landed in China. It is believed that as a promising approach, TAFE approach will help the school and the community as a whole to train more qualified students. In the process of TAFE model reform project, Beijing Vocational College of Finance and Trade continued to explore and learn from Australia’s advanced vocational education concepts and assessment standards, and deeply integrated the Australian vocational education “competency standard + curriculum system + teaching evaluation” into the whole teaching process. With the in-depth development of the TAFE education model reform project, through Australia’s ability-based teacher training, and continuous professional teaching guidance and evaluation, the teaching level of the school project team teachers will continue to be improved, and the school’s vocational education will also be enhanced. The level of cooperation enhances the school’s influence and social service capabilities.

In addition, the development of international professional standards is an important project for the school’s internationalization. With the deepening of TAFE education model reform project for accounting and pre-school education and training, Beijing Vocational College of Finance and Trade has more in-depth interpretation of Australia’s vocational education system and philosophy, professional training packages and competency units. By drawing on the relevant curriculum system and curriculum standards of Australian vocational qualification certificates, and combining the rules of the domestic accounting professional and technical qualification system, the school has completed the development of the English version of the talent training program for the international accounting major of the 2015 and 2016 level through foreign training projects. More efficiently carry out professional docking and mutual recognition of credits with overseas universities, and lay a solid foundation for docking with international curriculum standards such as the United Kingdom and Australia, and at the same time enhance the school’s ability to run internationally.
