In accordance with the overall implementation plan of TAFE education mode reform project for the China-Australia Vocational Education Cooperation and the deployment requirements of Beijing on novel Coronavirus pneumonia epidemic prevention and control, Australian Vocational Education Alliance will continue to promote various works of TAFE education mode reform while fighting against the epidemic.
The ninth TAFE accounting training was launched from July 15, 2020 to July 19. It adopted forms of online and offline mixed, task-driven and flexible learning. Janet Murdoch and Dino Bettiol, two senior trainers from Melbourne Institute of Technology, conducted a live Q&A session at 14:00 on July 19, mainly aiming to solve problems existing in teachers’ independent learning.
Online Flexible Autonomous Learning
This training takes the Australian TAFE education model and professional competence standard system as an example, instructs accounting project teachers to comprehensively apply TAFE competency-based curriculum design, evaluation and teaching methods. The main contents of subject 10 is: Prepare financial statements for non-reporting entities. This subject focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to prepare the financial statements of non-reporting entities, as well as the data needed to prepare the financial statements of non-reporting entities. It teaches trainees how to prepare the financial statements of non-reporting entities.
Training eachers need to log on to the AVEA online learning platform, adjust their learning schedule according to the course arrangement, and complete the learning evaluation task within the specified time.
Trainers’ Q&A Session on Live
At 2:00 PM on July 19, under the host of Robyn Guo, project director of the Australian Vocational Education Alliance, Janet Murdoch and Dino Bettiol, two senior trainers from Melbourne Institute of Technology, had a live Q&A session with the trainees, mainly explaining the problems existing in the training and learning of subjects 9 and 10.

Janet Murdoch started the Q&A session with a brief review of the course and a summary of the key points of each video so that trainees could better understand what was being said. After the course review, the Q&A session began, trainees were very eager to interact witrh two experts and all questions were answered in detail. The whole Q&A session lasted about an hour and a half, with every teacher actively participating and benefiting a lot.
By conducting the TAFE accounting training and answering questions, teachers’ teaching and their own level can be promoted. Q&A session shortened the distance between trainees and trainers, as well as prompted the accounting professional teachers of TAFE teaching model had a deeper understanding and using, in order to lay a solid foundation for the smooth implementation of TAFE education mode and online classroom in the future.
